2006 Census Small Area Population Statistics (SAPS)

There are two options available for viewing SAPS information. The first option allows you to view 68 SAPS tables organised by theme for each level of geography using Interactive Tables. The second option - the SAPMAP Web Mapping Tool - enables you to navigate to the location and level of geography you require.


SAPS contains 68 tables. You can select any of the 68 tables organised in the following 15 themes for the geographic area of your choice.

Theme 9:   Social class and socio-economic group
Theme 2: Migration, Ethnicity and Religion
Theme 10: Education
Theme 3: Irish language
Theme 11: Commuting
Theme 4: Families
Theme 12: Disability, carers and voluntary work
Theme 5: Private households Theme 13: Occupations
Theme 6: Housing
Theme 14: Industries
Theme 7: Communal establishments Theme 15: Car and PC ownership
Theme 8: Economic Status
 

 

 

The following levels of geography are distinguished in the SAPS Interactive Tables and in the SAPMAP Web Mapping Tool:

Electoral Divisions (option 1 above) are the smallest Administrative Areas for which census data is provided nationwide.

 

Census Enumeration Areas (EAs) (option 10 above) are only available for the five major cities. A listing of the streets contained in each of the areas, is provided in the EA Gazetteer.
